    Costa del Almeria

    Lying in the south-eastern part of Andalucia, the Costa del Almeria (population 500,000) is a region of contrasts: busy tourist resorts and outstandingly beautiful, unspoilt land. Thanks to intensive horticulture, it is one of Spain’s wealthiest regions.

    The area includes the national park of Cabo de Gata, a marine reserve with beautiful virgin beaches and rocky coves. Inland, the landscape is practically uninhabited.

    Main towns include the modern city of Almeria; the holiday resorts of Aquadulce, Almerimar and Roquetas del Mar with marinas and holiday apartments; and Mojacar, an attractive white village perched in the mountains with a thriving summer resort on the coast.

    The Costa del Almeria enjoys an excellent climate and unspoilt countryside, ideal for lovers of outdoor pursuits. You can choose from golf, water sports, hiking and even skiing in the Sierra Nevada. Alternatively you can discover the real Spain and visit some of the beautiful cities and towns in Andalucia, Granada in particular is a great place for a day trip.
